hi i've done research , aware unibody mbp not need battery calibration, altho have read sites state calibration maybe needed first time brand new mbps, guess debatable?
anyways in case had replace mid 2012 battery because died on me, bought new battery apple , replaced myself, has 69 cycles thought of calibration came mind, since battery replacement, , system , battery someway/somehow need calibrated proper reading. battery health fluctuates between 93% - 92% average fcc of 5350mah. previous battery had 650 cycles , held consistent health of 96%.
question is, procedures in calibrating battery unibody? follow same steps mbp replaceable batteries?
no, it's not debatable. built-in batteries in newer mac unibody notebooks come pre-calibrated , do not require regular calibration removable batteries in older apple notebooks.
your battery fine. normal if battery health (maximum capacity) more or less 100%, when brand new, or if fluctuates or down on time. gradual decline not in straight line downward, , may decline more rapidly @ times , slower @ others. further details, read checking status , health section of following link.
no, don't need calibrate battery.
link below should answer most, if not all, of battery/charging questions, including tips maximizing battery performance. if haven’t done so, highly recommend take time read it.
i have external monitor (nec pa271w) has custom calibrated profile. problem i'm having whenever i'm on safari , use magic trackpad go previous page colors off while page reloads. once it's loaded colors go custom profile. after lot of reading found out if set system preferences - display - color srgb iec61966-2.1 colors match , page reloads faster. here's example of i'm seeing while go 2 finger gesture. issue happens using coverflow in finder. has experienced same issues on external monitor? driving me crazy Forums Macs Mac Accessories iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes Apple ID iCloud Desktop Computers Apple Music Professional Applications iPod iWork Apple TV iLife Wireless
