2010 MBP update options?

i have 2010 mbp looking updating.

spec -

2010 mbp
10.6.8
2.66 c2d
4gb ram
320 gb hd

have version of mavericks downloaded while ago never installed wasnt sure on process.

questions worth updating? , if so, mavericks or yosemite?

if update, steps should take before other up. can fresh install or update via app store?
 

first of all, should install ssd. snow leopard runs acceptable performance hdd, ssd mandatory on mavericks , yosemite. after ssd upgrade (and cloning hdd using carbon copy cloner app) backup , update straight yosemite, unless use specific app can't go further mavericks.

clean installs nice, perform upgrades , i'm fine. you'll want disable translucency on yosemite, user interface more fluid on less capable gpus, it's worth updating. safari become usable again :d

iPhone shuts down randomly, rst vdd_under
