iPad Playing 4k from microsd card possible?

so, know ipad air , ipad air 2 can play 4k files.
problem is....i want play them directly on device. not want connect pc first.

options there? basicly connecting microsd card ipad air play 4k video files?
better option watch directly instead of copying first, if there no other way have suffice :)
 

it depends on trying accomplish...

ipad not have microsd card.

stream files via plex.

iPhone shuts down randomly, rst vdd_under
