update macbook?

i have macbook pro 2.4 core 2 duo....i have been wanting update need input. using photoshop elements basic photo editing, imovie, not power user. want retina display not sure if should go new macbook route m processor or i5 macbook pro
 

swing apple store , try them out. either 1 able handle tasks mentioned.

liked idea of thin, light , ultraportable retina macbook, hated typing on new keyboard. ended retina macbook pro.

iPhone shuts down randomly, rst vdd_under
