Looking for either an iMac or Mac Mini....

so i've been pc user entire life & looking buying 1st mac. think motherboard burned out in recent pc due leaving on time plex.

question is, better machine purchase if leave running ? know mac mini's consume less power, i'd avoid burning out motherboard. know simple solution turn off or put machine sleep once in while, there app can use wake either machine remotely when want use plex ?

also, need higher end processor in either machine usage ? general web browsing, downloading, & convert videos w/ handbrake. maybe games down road too. & appreciate responses
 

you can leave either imac or mac mini running 24/7 many months without issues. won't affect logic board.

have plex media server running on mac mini never sleeps, plex home theater. can control player remotely, using plex ios app.

mac model made in recent years can handle proposed workload.

iPhone shuts down randomly, rst vdd_under
