Samsung Confirmed to Produce A9 Chips for Apple's Next-Generation Devices

samsung provide apple a9 chips next-generation iphone , other devices, reports bloomberg, confirming previous report in february. on past couple of months there had been confusion , conflicting reports whether samsung, apple's longtime supplier , rival, or taiwan semiconductor manufacturing company (tsmc) produce chips.

in 2013, apple signed chip production deal tsmc in hopes of diversifying supply chain resources , reducing reliance on samsung amid 2 companies' ongoing legal disputes.

appears samsung's investment in manufacturing technologies won apple over, tsmc chairman morris chang telling investors company lose ground samsung in producing advanced chip technology possible in 2015, though noted company regain advantage in 2016.

samsung reportedly producing chips advanced 14-nanometer process, has outpaced tsmc's capabilities , results in smaller chips consume less energy , provide more processing power. korean company also said providing memory chips apple's next-generation devices.

far, little known next-generation iphones or ipads include other new a9 chips, new reports indicate apple bringing new force touch technology devices. other rumors suggest a9 may make way "ipad pro", may debut in late 2015. it's 2015 versions of the ipad air , ipad mini outfitted versions of a9 well.

iPhone shuts down randomly, rst vdd_under
