Extending my Airport Extreme with an Express or another Extreme?

i have airport extreme ac in brother's room wish better signal in garage.

i'm going either airport extreme or airport express extend range.

should get? worth spending money on extreme put in extender mode since have ac , able extend both 2.4 , 5ghz?

or okay getting airport express?

it boils down this: usage in garage require ac speeds, or n-standard speeds ok you?

have decided extend network using express routers (but connect extreme connected internet):
example 1: media player in next room extreme, it's impractical pull ethernet cable it. on other hand, bandwidth required streaming within n-class network specifications, , don't need more expensive.
example 2: extend internet connection wirelessly second house. have <8 mbps adsl connection, , that's far below n-class network speeds achieve, extreme complete waste of money.
