new rMB setup advice

hi all, know i've seen information in threads "beach ball" spinning while on filevault step while setting new macbook. i've seen others dodged wiping computer when first got , installing 10.10.3 (i think, may have written version wrong? .3 instead of .2)

i'm wondering if people have gone through wanted chat , give advice around best way set new computer, experiences in mind. advise me same thing, , wait out beach ball / have reset it, or try more drastic start? should yes or no filevault?

for me personally, did clean setup. did not use time machine or migration assistant since of stuff in cloud. after set up, then turned on filevault. filevault took day setup. still able use computer while filevault processing. after had install 100 gb of software, files , folders. saw no spinning beach ball , computer did not freeze on me.

Battery Cycles

okay, know how battery cycles , work. want know is: how many cycles battery has how old battery is how many mah macbook shipped with how many mah have now reading thread on different site macbook batteries , commenting battery info. of them commenting saying reached 120 cycles per year. 1 guy said mac 3 years old on 250 cycles (avg. 83 year). think person had 400 after 2 years. in 'system information' says age of macbook 3 months old (when arrived said 1 months old, i've had 2 months) , have 98 cycles, using many cycles? i'm asking because realised apple batteries more or less useless @ holding charge after 1000 cycles , if i'm averaging 100 every 2 months gives me 1.7 years until macbook more or less desktop... to me seems poor previous windows laptops owned lasted long , expect lot more machine on £1k. (i have been told batteries in newer macbooks glued in place , replacing battery hard job , cost lots of money, mistake...
