External Display For 2011 Mac Mini ?

hi i'm looking @ upgrading 2011 mac mini 2015 13" retina macbook pro. plan give mac mini dad. @ moment it's connected 32" sony bravia hd tv. looking @ getting external display dad use mac mini. ideally on smaller side, maybe 19" or 21" although i'm willing @ larger models.

doesn't need fancy or high spec primary use internet, email , word processing. want quality , not generic cheap brand. @ same time want keep cost low due going use , used for. i'm looking connect via hdmi there hdmi port on mac mini.

oh , live in uk ideally models posted here or links should uk market or @ least available here. advice or information appreciated.
 

given dad, , of generation, weakening eyesight , comes getting older, suggest going larger monitor rather smaller one.

24 inch seems sweet spot 1920 x 1080 resolution, , 20 inch size go 1600 x 900 resolution. monitors have hdmi port these days.

okay, know how battery cycles , work. want know is: how many cycles battery has how old battery is how many mah macbook shipped with how many mah have now reading thread on different site macbook batteries , commenting battery info. of them commenting saying reached 120 cycles per year. 1 guy said mac 3 years old on 250 cycles (avg. 83 year). think person had 400 after 2 years. in 'system information' says age of macbook 3 months old (when arrived said 1 months old, i've had 2 months) , have 98 cycles, using many cycles? i'm asking because realised apple batteries more or less useless @ holding charge after 1000 cycles , if i'm averaging 100 every 2 months gives me 1.7 years until macbook more or less desktop... to me seems poor previous windows laptops owned lasted long , expect lot more machine on £1k. (i have been told batteries in newer macbooks glued in place , replacing battery hard job , cost lots of money, mistake...

Weird behavior on external monitor
