Access eCrypt on Mac OS X

i have been having trouble last few days attempting pull data off internal hard drive desktop computer, runs ubuntu 14.04. home folder encrypted using ecryptfs. able boot ubuntu in virtualbox , access files using [sudo ecryptfs-recover-private] command, when copy files, virtualbox inevitably crashes after amount of time; because it's becoming overloaded moving large files.

questions is: there way mount ecrypt directory [/home/.ecryptfs/user/.private] on mac? have tried using veracrypt mount, comes error saying it's directory, not file. , have yet find information elsewhere.

os: snow leopard 10.6.8
computer: macbook pro 7,1 13"
xcode installed
homebrew installed

thank in advance
