hey all.

may need new lcd, before do, maybe can fix current one.

problem began when got infimous gradient caused 1 set of led's being brighter set. managed live while, lcd packed altogether.

display still works, shine torch on , can see still works. also, led's come on briefly @ start or when wake mac, go off again.

led me conclude it's problem part controls led's on/off status.

inquiries thus:

should attempt fix whatever part of lcd causing led's malfunction (i have friend can me) in assumption particular part has come loose/whatever. or 'gradient' had beforehand indicate that part done for?

if need replace whole lcd, 1 @ reasonable price? have mid-2007 20" imac, have been unable find decent online.


also:

i'm thinking of replacing hdd bigger. i'm thinking of dropping in ssd run osx from, , use hdd storage. able install ssd in place of optical drive?
