safari can't verify....

every time go google website, such search engine or youtube, safari tells me, "safari can't verify identity of website..." won't let me use them either. if click continue says same thing, instead of youtube or google, says ad.doubleclick.net.

idea how fix this? tried going website in chrome , said wasn't private connection , watching me or trying data. know what's going on?

well that's pretty clear, isn't it? you've got avast installed web shield protection enabled.

work secure connections, need intercept encrypted communcation (typically simple local proxy used purpose) decrypt communication , can perform scan activities on such decrypted content. need encrypt again on output. , here use own certificates because of course don't have access actual server private keys.

can either disable web shield (look "web shield" option in avast preferences), or disable secure connections (look "scan secured connections" option in web shield custom preferences). or if want keep enabled read following part.

there strange things setup though. shouldn't getting messages certificates signed ("unknown" - per message) "avast untrusted ca" should signed "avast trusted ca" , authority should have certificate in trusted roots (for safari it's in keychain access - system roots). check if you've got such certificate there.
in case it's related avast if end thinking may avast bug (and that's entirely possible) contact support.

avast here , why (and it's pretty buggy/insecure if original server certificate revoked), may have here: http://www.thesafemac.com/avasts-man-in-the-middle/
