hi , mini (mid 2010) getting increasingly grindy. shopping out replacement in $700 range, couldn't decide on basic mini fusion drive, or better memory/cpu standard drive. cost big factor - i'm doing because i'm getting sick of beachballs.
according crucial.com, max memory on current mini 8 gig , 500 gig ssd under $300, attractive alternative. i'm comfortable installing these myself.
given specs on current mini,
processor: 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo
memory: 2 gb 1067 mhz ddr3
mac mini mid 2010
better value
1-upgrading current 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo mini 8 gig of memory , ssd drive, ($300)
2- buying new 1.4ghz dual-core intel core i5 mini + 4gb memory + fusion drive ($750)
3- buying new 2.6ghz dual-core intel core i5 mini + 8gb memory standard drive? ($700)
all!
i try , stretch new 2.6ghz dual-core intel core i5 mini + 8gb memory ssd. should last 5 years. 2010 mini bit old throw money at, others may disagree.
may able pick 1 cheaper on apple refurb store.
