IMac Pro OSX Questions.

i'm hoping guys can me this.

have imac pro replaced hd girlfriend. lost data on hd. had no os came machine.

bought snow leopard v10.6.7 , tried load on machine. comes error message, "mac osx can't installed on machine."

have wrong os? if so, version came machine?
s/n w8940kpx5pc model a1311 purchased in 2010 2009 model.

next question. copy of right os?
see have snow leopard os installation dvd's sale @ apple store, not sure whether original os.
 

that model late 2009 imac. capable of running os x 10.6.1 through latest version of os x.

if buy snow leopard (os x 10.6) disc apple now, latest version. if buy store, might original (10.6.0) won't work on model; or might model-locked version (like macbook.)

if live near apple store, can bring there , ask help.
