My Apple TV3 will not connect

it has been having intermittent connection drops here , there ios8 on iphone/ ipad (was flawless when ios7 era) since going ios 8.1.2 it's been 100% not working either device.
iphone 6, ipad mini retina, , wife's iphone 6 on 8.1.2. i've reset network settings on idevices no luck, i've reset apple tv in menu , restored current version, , reset wifi router powering down , on after several minutes.
have suggestions?
 

if getting tun on home sharing in apple tv screen , turned on in itunes. may have downgrade itunes 12.0.1.71 12.0.1.26. spend hours on apple tv not connecting since updating itunes 12.0.1.71. not sure other iphone/ipad related connections.
