i find backups done chronosync aren't identical source drive.
yes, appear contain files of source (phew!), if i've renamed, deleted or moved files around on source end having of in addition files old names, files have been deleted stay in old place , moved files stay in old place.
i've had backups document configured follows:
[x] synchronize deletions
[x] archive replaced files
when deleting files: [delete immediately]
shouldn't mean old files on backup drive should moved on "archive" folder on drive, , rest of actual backup should have exact same files source drive?
i'm using chronosync 4.5.5. (purchased license) on osx 10.6.8.
can tell me if you're reusing same sync document or creating new 1 each time run backup? need reusing same sync document chronosync handle deletions properly. if you'd deletions synced new sync documents, consider using 'mirror' sync operation 'sync deletions' enabled. if choose run this, careful delete on destination not on source make destination mirror copy of source.
also, chronosync doesn't recognize 'move' or 'rename' operation. sees file/folder being deleted in 1 location , new file/folder appearing in new location in sync tree. if need rename or move large files or folders, can avoid data transfer performing same file/folder rename/move operation on destination target before syncing. if this, data won't transferred. file , folder attributes synchronized.

ryan
