Strange Files on my Mac Hard drive

good day,

have noticed these strange files showing on hard drive.i have 27" imac has os x 10.6.8. don't know causes them show up. , appear harmless nevertheless i'd know what's causing them. i've attached screenshot of hard drives can see mean.

i've attempted open these files , here sample of info found in them:

t1 = 10
gray step = 256.00
gray diff thresh = 2560.0000
resolution = 300
scale = 100
effective res = 300

info in each file looks above , repeats multiple times , other times it's once or twice.

me please?

i think clue "tdustnscratch" lines.
guess have hp printer/scanner, , files generated when make changes "dust , scratch filter" in hp scanner software.

installing hp software messes os x permissions.
run disk utility, repair disk permissions.

can safely delete files random characters in name - or may normal files see, weird bug in hp scanner software.
may check @ hp web site updates printer/scanner software. issue might known issue hp has fixed update.
