Dumb question re: timekeeping and travel.

haven't been around forums in long while. tried rudimentary searches , googles. sorry if obvious.

know how apple watch handle timekeeping when *it , parent iphone have no internet access*? i'm going taking cruise in september (first cruise ever) , i've seen numerous people phones kind of useless cruise timekeeping due frequent changes in 'ship time' , lack of internet connectivity.

know how apple watch handle time-keeping , manual time-zone changes in absence of internet connectivity?

that's wonder also. when i'm on cruise, typically have set iphone's clock manually picking approximate timezone close country we're sailing to, , phone sits in airplane mode entire time. i'm hoping watch, if leave connected via bluetooth able sync time , it's normal, non-internet functions upload steps , heart rate phone. tend lot of walking on vacation , it's fun see steps , stairs @ end of each day when i'm tired!
