managed "smart" vs unmanaged switches

quick question. there benefits getting managed switch on unmanaged one? can't router carry out fuctions managed switch would've done? qos, port mirroring, ip management , on…

i'm looking @ netgear gs108 unmanaged vs smart. tp-link tl-sg108 unmanaged vs smart counter parts.

fyi. i'll have behind router. router > switch > devices, including mac, ios, voip service, xbox. configured apple airport.

a managed switch used make router work less doing of functions qos , monitoring , useful when there lot of devices. doubt need seem have 5-10 devices or , unlikely overload router.

keep in mind airport router doesn't have qos @ unknown reason. also, every setting change needs reboot apply. ac model use, believe applies earlier models well.
