Notification Banners

for reason, not getting notifications sent watch if disable "banners" in notification settings on phone (even if enable custom notifications in watch settings). don't banners when using phone. prefer sound , badge icon only. has found way notifications on watch while phone screen not on, if choose disable banners on phone?
 

did give phone enough time "lock"? screen off not mean phone locked. give minute before test it.
