5k iMac: can I justify?

as distinct fancying one, can there conceivable logical justification me buying 5k imac?

windows laptop (used in conjunction 21 inch monitor, , usb keyboard , mouse) getting little mature , son, highly computer savvy , happier in land of apple of windows, prefer continuing techie support gives me in apple world. , wife , both have ipads , iphones. when successor windows laptop will, believe, apple computer. fine.

because of ipads not need portability of laptop. if had 1 might carry near tv it. imac, think.

it's demanding use photo "editing". put editing in quotes reason. there lot of activity. have 20000-30000 photos. 90% of activity selection , transferring, not editing. other 10% cropping, residue being simple enhancements using photoshop elements. principal products of activity transfers of "edited" , organised photos viewing on 55 inch sony hd tv via copies transferred ps3, , via usb hard drive attached ps 3. organised photos copied our ipads.

modest though use might topish-end imac, use prevents consideration of managing no computer.

others current uses based around domestic issues - managing our correspondence, light spreadsheet activity, copying/scanning/printing attached multifunction device. , while of our email , internet activity on ipads, prefer laptop , full screen particularly intensive web browsing when comparing multiple sites. of our cds have been input itunes on laptop.

possible future use video "editing", having bought new camera video including 4k video (a panasonic fz1000). if takes off, again so-called editing @ light end of spectrum, largely trimming , joining. except 4k material need converted hd format tv, ps3, , whatever ipads require.

no games, unless son or grandsons require , sort them.

so, here, if anything, justify/warrant/benefit 5k imac?

and, supplementary, tv, directly or via ps3, display photos and/or video slickly if took stored content via wifi apple time capsule or similar device instead of being copied on ps3's hard drive?

of course seeking son's advice on of this, not have imac.

why not go apple store and/or reseller , @ 1 , make educated decision. can connect tv computer via appletv ($69) , can use tv second display, view photos, stream video , audio mac tv/home theater etc...

in short, millions have gone before (myself included) never consider pc in house ever again.
