Adding SSD for After-Market Fusion Drive - Will OS X Put the OS on the SSD?

i rip guts out of imac, in i'm going take out original 1tb hdd , replace 4tb hdd, add 256gb ssd (and while i'm in there, swap out superdrive slot-loading bd drive). intent, obviously, create storage space need media on board, add ssd os isn't slowed down living on hdd that's half-full media.

so, when installed , boot / install os, yosemite put on ssd automatically, or need point in right direction?

if you're going create fusion drive, go onto 1 volume. use system, it'll figure out should on ssd , should on hdd. don't (or need) control on it.
