SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7950 problems in mac pro 1.1

after reading bunch of cool things card , went out spend money buy 1 ($450). installed card , seemed glitchy. screen flickers , such. installed drivers website no avail.
wrote customer support , got no them. other than
'requirement card mac pro 2009 or later build, 2007 not suitable run card.'
guess…
how going make card work on mac pro 10.7.5 installed
 

10.8.3+ has native drivers. make test installation , see if alleviates of problems?
