Mac Pro Upgrade Questions

i have quad core 2009 mac pro want upgrade new machine able use '09 other purposes. i've increased memory 16g , swapped out boot drive ssd give me bit more life in unit.


main usage:
file server
periodic parallels usage
periodic imovie
iphoto db on 1g
perodic audacity usage
browsing, numbers & pages

question 1) i've seen reference new v3 chips rumored nmp refresh several percent greater in processing power current 2013 nmp chips. know this? me decide wait refresh or not. given limited video editing don't know how new graphic cards affect me.

question 2) given usage, cores of 6 core 3.5g nmp give me more benefit on cheaper 4 core 4.0g imac 5k?

question 3) 16g seem enough memory. have tons free unless i'm running parallels.

thoughts.
 

buy 2nd 2009 $829 or, apple special 6-core cheaper. don't think have outgrown 4,1

ssd vms $120
xp941 type ssd system $300
memory: 3 x 8gb instead on 2nd system (and can swap parts testing or needed)
avoids costs of thunderbolt , having use mavericks or yosemite if matters.

not seem nmp 6,1 makes sense.
