Photos app and Android

guys, i've "updated" photos , have seen no end of problems!

want import photos android (which have done without trouble).

first problem few photos show thumbnails.

second problem photos have imported show being new. if import i'll have duplicates.

when select photos want import (i count how many new ones have on phone , count on photos app) , click import nothing happens. says importing, several hours later 5 photos need importing still in import process.

decide stop importing. doesn't work. photos app hangs.

choose quit photos. won't allow me so. tells me it's closing library. force quit not available!

choose shut down mac. no can photos still running - , can't force quit either!

have hold power button down shut down.

happens every single time!

oh apple, have been doing these last few years!
 

guys, quick question please - there way of deleting duplicate photo's photos app?
