problem w/ external SSD as boot drive?

hey all,

so, have had 2013 imac 27" while. posted few weeks ago, opted make bootable drive samsung 850 evo , lacie rugged thunderbolt enclosure...

however, during past week, have had 2 separate instances of imac freezing pinwheel. wan't doing intensive tasks (just surfing web , watching hulu video @ same time. may have had wod open also).

specs base imac 27" quad-core i5 1tb internal spinner drive, ram upgraded 24 gb (since day 1).

reason think ssd cause of these recent freezing problem?
 

could be, don't remember exact number of power consumption supported on lacie. depending on capacity of 850 evo might lacie. 500gb version should fine recall.

Battery Cycles

okay, know how battery cycles , work. want know is: how many cycles battery has how old battery is how many mah macbook shipped with how many mah have now reading thread on different site macbook batteries , commenting battery info. of them commenting saying reached 120 cycles per year. 1 guy said mac 3 years old on 250 cycles (avg. 83 year). think person had 400 after 2 years. in 'system information' says age of macbook 3 months old (when arrived said 1 months old, i've had 2 months) , have 98 cycles, using many cycles? i'm asking because realised apple batteries more or less useless @ holding charge after 1000 cycles , if i'm averaging 100 every 2 months gives me 1.7 years until macbook more or less desktop... to me seems poor previous windows laptops owned lasted long , expect lot more machine on £1k. (i have been told batteries in newer macbooks glued in place , replacing battery hard job , cost lots of money, mistake...

SSD Performing Poorly
