S/MIME signed emails

i installed personal email certificate on both mac mail , iphone 6. knowing bit different on ios 8 took few steps installed on iphone , trusted.

question when sending signed (not encrypted) mac or iphone recipient using ios not show signed blue check mark in header. understanding trusted certificate recognized on receiving end. maybe can explain this. recipient have have own certificate installed? on mac mail message that's signed shows security: emailaddress check mark.
 

outlook supports s/mime , show red ribbon.

many other clients junky clients gmail, have signing attachment, think pk6 file.
