"Messages" (v8.0) on iMac sometimes takes MINUTES to send SMS?

i've noticed send sms friend, on imac (10.10.2) on messages (v8.0 4733), , "progress bar" @ top 90% complete, hang there 3-4 minutes, before being "sent." after first message gets sent , i'm given "sent" sound, next messages type / send sent instantaneously.

so, holding first message , how can prevent it?

thinking it's wi-fi or modem problem, i'm doing on various webpages @ same time i'm doing messages, that's not issue.
 

i noticed few days ago apple's messages near top of list on downdetector's web site (not thing).

having same issues yesterday you're citing, using messages on mac connect business partner in seattle (i'm in portland) , brother (in sitka, flying portland tomorrow).

of messages sent text messages, , few not shown received received on other end - found out when picked phone call each party.

kicker me received message on mac brother sent - 20 days ago - , received on iphone then. wish had fix us... think i'll stick messages on ios devices.
