iCloud Drive Using Disc Space?

quick question i'm simple.

i'm putting large video files icloud drive (i pay 200gb icloud drive) can access them on windows laptop small ssd. seems icloud drive consists of downloading video files onto hdd of laptop therefore filling space. correct?

not 'cloud' @ if that's case.

many thanks.
 

there's option make full resolution version available offline. if check yes take hd space.
