Keeping MBP alive

first bought 2012 mbp15 in 2013 work. can't new work laptop until next year. got mp last year so, other conferences, ok.

mbp has been awesome. survived 2 coffee spills , 1 water spill. took in first 2 times , told no damage seen. has fallen more times can count (i have young child @ home , use @ home now).

yesterday nothing particularly bad happened it. went out , in evening when returned home 2-key , w-key not working. (the night before backlight did not work)

said, can't new work computer until next year. mp mb or rmbp13 ideal. forget that, how keep mbp productive @ home until can replace it?

there way key functionality back? should set on desk , use keyboard , mouse? advice welcome!

(it has taken punishment of laptop have ever had, previous record holder first laptop, quantex 1998)

psh, 2012? amateur. :p (mine 2007)

don't know keyboard replacements 2009+ models, maybe mac-certified repair shop near can give idea of repair costs. otherwise, yeah, simplest (and cheapest) solution plug in keyboard , mouse. on bright side: it'll better laptop's keyboard.
