Should I choose iMac ?

hey guys, i'm new here , i'm not knowledgeable computer specs.

looking desktop make graphic designing , video editing easier , smoother
wanted enjoy playing games high quality graphics.
although play them when i'm having break, bored or on rest day. play dota 2 or battlefield 3, want play more games uninstall them when got bored out of or they're starting become display desktop.

think imac fits desire desktop ?

friend told me it's better invest on self upgrade computer can save more money.

it true, can save money building own (or having built you) custom computer. however, can wholeheartedly imac lasted quite bit longer home built computer, without modifications. specially software standpoint. really, comes down this: what's preference? want computer more expensive, reliable; or want computer cheaper up-front, years go on having add more , more parts keep up-to-date? choice you. bought 5k imac after 7 years refurbished, base-model imac (which still running strong, wanted speed boost video editing), have choice easy me. can't imagine going pc.

graphic designers see in mac: less headaches. mean software/hardware has less chance of having issue or crashing. not never have problems, frequency of happen less experience windows software. also, graphic design softwares (among many other creative softwares) available on mac.

Battery Cycles

okay, know how battery cycles , work. want know is: how many cycles battery has how old battery is how many mah macbook shipped with how many mah have now reading thread on different site macbook batteries , commenting battery info. of them commenting saying reached 120 cycles per year. 1 guy said mac 3 years old on 250 cycles (avg. 83 year). think person had 400 after 2 years. in 'system information' says age of macbook 3 months old (when arrived said 1 months old, i've had 2 months) , have 98 cycles, using many cycles? i'm asking because realised apple batteries more or less useless @ holding charge after 1000 cycles , if i'm averaging 100 every 2 months gives me 1.7 years until macbook more or less desktop... to me seems poor previous windows laptops owned lasted long , expect lot more machine on £1k. (i have been told batteries in newer macbooks glued in place , replacing battery hard job , cost lots of money, mistake...
