Advice on getting a Mac Mini

hello, everyone.

looking buy new mac desktop. maybe 1 of important things me screen. had macbook air 8 or 9 months, had sell , go retina macbook pro. i"ll beginning : laptop great , it's great work machine, needs. use premiere pro , final cut, , though doesn't have dedicated gpu, still works flawlessly. use main computer, , while 15" display more enough when i'm on go, more real screen estate when @ home.

however, not looking powerhouse. things doing on new machine web browsing, email, itunes , word processing, watching movies. therefore, want :

1. high resolution display.
2. big display.
2. computer runs os x without issues.

21.5 imac won't cut me, because it's 1080p. while find 27" imac's resolution decent enough, starts @ 1800$ , there's no way i"ll buy has spinning hard drive. yes, know can throw flash storage in there, that"ll make purchase more expensive, , @ point, can't afford 2000$ computer. needless say, have gone retina imac if had money.

considered 2 options :

1. 4k monitor , use macbook pro in closed clamshell mode when @ home - while find cheaper option, don't think i"ll comfortable plugging macbook monitor , keeping connected power source. way, spend 500$-600$ on 4k display , have screen estate want on computer own.
2. 4k monitor , mac mini late 2014, , go mid range model - dual core 2.6ghz i5, 8gb ram , 256ssd. not interested in 2012 mac mini, supports 1080p , high resolution of display big deal me. if this, end paying 1400$ mac , 4k display, believe more decent , wouldn't have plug macbook power outlet.

far 4k monitor concerned, leaning towards samsung uhd 28" monitor. reviews have been pretty , can excellent price live. can hardly other 4k monitors in price range, think it's great deal.

should do?
