No power to optical drive SATA ports

a few weeks ago noticed optical drive wasn't showing in disk utility. double checked connections , tried both 1 , 2 connectors no avail. drive not respond manual press of hardware eject button either drive dead or i'm not receiving power these ports. have working knowledge of power connections mac don't have go digging around in chassis loose connection? possible psu busted?
 

assuming have 4,1 or 5,1, can see sata cables connect logic board in between pci fan , front grill without having remove anything. power optical drives 4 pin connector above sata ports.

if have 1,1, 2,1 or 3,1, you'll have remove front fans

okay, know how battery cycles , work. want know is: how many cycles battery has how old battery is how many mah macbook shipped with how many mah have now reading thread on different site macbook batteries , commenting battery info. of them commenting saying reached 120 cycles per year. 1 guy said mac 3 years old on 250 cycles (avg. 83 year). think person had 400 after 2 years. in 'system information' says age of macbook 3 months old (when arrived said 1 months old, i've had 2 months) , have 98 cycles, using many cycles? i'm asking because realised apple batteries more or less useless @ holding charge after 1000 cycles , if i'm averaging 100 every 2 months gives me 1.7 years until macbook more or less desktop... to me seems poor previous windows laptops owned lasted long , expect lot more machine on £1k. (i have been told batteries in newer macbooks glued in place , replacing battery hard job , cost lots of money, mistake...

iPhone shuts down randomly, rst vdd_under
