Regent Street London - impressions, light testing

so london regent street store had them in today viewing only.

tried use them , compare experience mba13 , mbp13 asap.

models on display 1.1.
colours tastefully muted. afraid gold guache tastefully matte , pastel, not shiny neon or bling.

light given hype aren't light expected. can handle them 1 hand.

feel fragile compared other models. not want put in bag hardback books.

screen per expectations.

keyboard. tried it. did. thought.. it'll take getting used to. typed half hour in total 5 mins @ time. lack of feedback gives me pain .. rsi? never knew when key press registered. couldn't relax , type.. stressful. mbp13 , air tried didn't have @ all. can't see myself typing more few sentences rmb keys. larger key size didn't seem have impact.

gui terrible. feel groaning resize windows, swipe new desktops. wasn't fluid , jarrs , adds stress. tried these tests in different laptops in case 1 left in bad state previous user. no change.. guis struggled. users wont mind if they're used slower laptop old corei3 windows7 has snappier ui. tabbing between mac apps not snappy. notebooks size did make me feel cramped , hunched on device.. tried different heights myself mimic sitting @ cafe table.. no improvement.

resolution set native 4 rmb , mbp tested.


using setting dialogs felt smoother on mbp not rmb felt asthmatic!

thought ssds supposed super fast. yet apps took noticeable seconds load.

photos ok not snappy. felt smoother on mbp13. did ui when tried few minutes later. safari seems fluid , guess tries hard right people live in web.


performance.. don't let install chrome admin pass required. managed install ipython anaconda. ran sure... installed slower mbp. has heavy installer fair. running script repeatedly matrix.multiplication confirmed of course mbp faster. rmb did it.. possible code.

editting via photos doable feel rmb struggling didn't fail. mbp felt smooth , effortless.


got hot!!!! noticeably. i'd worry if didn't know after , throttle.

didn't try sound youtube via safari seemed equivalent between mbp , rmb running hd tube.

overall
not impossible stuff others have confirmed.
pleasant experience isn't there. ui lags terribly apple fault 8yr old computers have snappier uis. keyboard not regular sustained use. not essays or coding. don't buy if you'll regret every lag jitter , delay.

may try 1.2ghz , 1.3 if ui.

conclusion
social media, web , consumption device. not pleasant create content. worth £1x00? can see gen4/5 stunning devices if ui fixed , keyboard too.

personal opinion
think underlying hardware fine. faster laptops 5years old. but. opinion yosemite slow , bloated ui. 5+ year old £300 laptop shouldn't feel snappier does. android nexus 5 has way more pixels (1920x1080)to push laptops out there , still more fluid gui.

never expected mbp sustained processing. didn't basic desktop operations , experience felt worse 5+yr old £300 desktop. valid challenge pushing many pixels should doesn't excuse user user experience if explain it.

forgot people seemed happy device, cooing on baby, commenting on appearance not technicals. apple increasingly fashion brand, in line new had if retail guess (personal opinion)

yes keys show finger gear , it's noticeable. in fact chao in apple t-shirt busy cleaning them cloth between people playing them.

 

is mbp use retina one?
