What just happened to my USB ports?

i plugged old external floppy drive mini @ ancient files. @ point usb port serving stopped functioning -- , did other usb ports, wouldn't acknowledge of external devices. afraid i'd fried hardware, restarting mini seems have fixed everything.

so... happened? warning of trouble come, or weird reaction old floppy drive? mini right @ 1-year mark, warranty on verge of expiring....

i -guess- floppy drive drawing "bus power" operate, , mini "shut down" usb ports result (probably protective measure).

believe there trick can try called "smc reset" (serial management controller?). you'll have search how it, don't have info @ hand type this.

- go "system information" (in utilities folder) , click on "usb" on left. kind of report give you?
