Confused Why don't Apple watch apps also do notifications?

very confused here. have espn app installed on phone , watch. turned off notifications espn in apple watch iphone app assuming espn watch app take care of it, not case. notifications off, no alerts on watch. them on, alerts on watch, can't thing them. taping on them nothing. why don't open apple watch app? or why doesn't espn watch app take on espn notifications the watch?

iPhone shuts down randomly, rst vdd_under
