Mac Pro 5,1---10.10.3 Update---Graphics Issues

hey everyone,

having issues 10.10.3 update. supplemental update hasn't helped.

build: mac pro 5,1
•16gb ecc ddr3 ramm
•owc mercury accelsior_e2 (basically flash storage)
•6tb of sata ii hdd (sataii instead of iii because of on heating issues caused lack of support sata iii)
•evga geforce gtx980 superclocked (also have few amd's available not on board)
•usb 3.0 pcie card (generic , cheap awesome results)
•dell p2715q 4k

use:
•virtualizing windows server tech preview , 2012 (practicing integration active directory)
•running mac osx server , plex media server (od, time machine, web server, etc.)
•video editing
•general business use

problem:

had sapphire 9750 installed when updated 10.10.3. card had issues thought card. got replacement card , installed didn't help. returned card , ordered evga gtx980 sc , still didn't work. @ point begin understand apple screwed me 10.10.3 update. supplemental update did nothing. worthless.

troubleshooting steps:

guy, me! made backup using carbon copy cloner before update. installed basic amd card , booted after reversing changes trim enabler (this described here). booted backup running 10.10.2 , installed cuda nvidia , web drivers, rebooted , shut down. swapped out cards , proceeded test ports. worked under 10.10.2. when tried under 10.10.3 (using newest web drivers) still got nothing black screen. of right accessing 10.10.3 volume booting without external graphics card.

or guidance appreciated.

hopefully left trim enabler alone these tests. don't know if has updated or not recent versions used "shotgun" approach boot args, overwriting there instead of adding whatever there.

if running gtx980 fine , turn on te boot black screen nvidia drivers turned off code.

type in terminal "nvram -p" , have @ boot args. should see nvda driver=1 in there. if not, needs be.

far 2 @ 7950 (right, didn't mean 9750?) , 980 not working, use entirely different drivers , recent issues have been due nvidia drivers choking on new build numbers.

have point out other thing 3 cards have in common slot , power. got memo needing 2 @ power cables? once month email thinks "supplemental = optional" , not so. must have 2@ 6 pins on 980 , if 7950 has 8 pin connector may need sense 8 populated. if have power cables have @ ends, pin gets pushed inside.

try different slot cards. bare apple io stuff common in drivers, bulk 100% different amd & nvidia doubt 10.10.3 root cause of woes.
