Surface Pro 4 or MacBook Pro?

i have 2010 macbook air thinking of upgrading later year. use web browsing, netflix streaming, ms word , excel , light photo editing. have narrowed search down surface pro 4 or macbook pro. don't care os. @ ease using both osx , windows (have use windows @ work anyway).

wondering if surface pro 4 might better option if comes skylake processors , possibly thinner , lighter surface pro 3? thing don't on windows machines sub-par trackpads. macbook trackpads have spoiled me. can expect improvements on trackpad on surface pro 4's touch keyboard (larger , better multi-touch capabilities)?

p.s. not want consider surface 3 because 10.8" small me primary personal computer @ home.
 

you're asking purchase decisions on unreleased product. have no idea ms doing, i.e., making thinner, making if larger, making quad core, etc etc.
