When waking up my MacBook Pro, the external monitor unpredictably displays “snow flak

i can't seem pinpoint specific cause this, when wake mbp external screen gets fuzzy, tv no reception. if sleep display again (with hot corners) , wake again it's fine. know how fix this?

repost forum , same thing happening me. seems acer monitors samsung worked fine? know fix prevent happening other replugging hdmi mac?
 


got same picture when connection between display-port/thunderbolt-port , external-display adapter lost contact. plugging in , out @ mbp (mostly) restore connection. trying move plug on mbp recapitulated effect.

appeared after lb exchange, disappeared after next lb exchange.
