10.10.3 update and flashing folder w question mark issue

updating mbp 15", 2.2 i7 8 gb (2011) 10.10.3 , @ reboot got flashing folder question mark.

option->power booted , got firmware dialogue. entered firmware pw , booted userlogin.

logged in , installation continued.

saying, in case else have same experience.
 

somehow, me, problem connected having firmware password.

if turn firmware password off, boots albeit taking longer time initial boot sequence before login many shows.

when turn firmware password on again, flashing folder question mark.

ideas?
