so bought tempered glass privacy screen protector new screen replaced on iphone 5 protected day 1. think 1 of biggest mistakes made.
first off, screen protector made out of plastic , not legitimate glass , tell. had 1 bodyguardz on brother's phone , privacy 1 felt cheaply made compared it. privacy 1 flex more, more real tempered glass one.
also, wasn't of privacy screen protector. tinted black screen protector , barely see screen in normal lighting conditions @ full brightness.
stupidly decided let go , used few months.
fast forward week ago , accidentally dropped iphone on concrete. should have been fine "tempered glass" protector had, when examined phone, looked there no damage done , fine. when turned on phone, screen severely cracked , looked bad.
pretty surprised. protector did nothing , stayed intact while screen cracked underneath. not good.
ended needing replace screen *again*. $60 total spent in repairs on it.
purpose of thread inform beware of cheap tempered glass protectors. lot of times aren't real tempered glass , don't job protecting phone. expensive tempered glass protectors expensive reason - @ least have decent quality.
it's luck of draw when drop phone. had expensive name brand glass screen protector (invisible shield) , both screen , protector shattered when dropped it.
think glass protectors there more impacts directly screen , dings/scratches whereas covers edges of phone case drop protection.
being said, main idea of thread rings true: pay for.
