iCloud Photo Sync

so discovered icloud syncing photos mac devices not want using way space. want have pictures take specific device , still photos icloud. make sense?

help!
 

it sounds icloud photo library not because point of photos on of devices.

if turn icloud photo library off use photostream, put new photos device on mac , in icloud, on every other device has photostream turned on.

if want each device have photos taken device, a) don't use icloud photo library, , b) turn off photostream. can still have device icloud, , backup include camera roll. but, have manually transfer new photos mac through iphoto.

1 final suggestion: on ios device, if using icloud photo library, there option in settings --> photos --> "optimize iphone (or ipad) storage." if click that, rather "download , keep originals," device keep device-optimized versions of photos rather full resolution photos, can save lot of space.
