Thunderbolt ethernet bridge linking a TB 2 Windows system and a TB 1 Mac?

hi,

wasn't quite sure of start topic since people running windows boot camp on thunderbolt 2-equipped mac can possibly answer questions i've decided try luck here.

goal connect 2 2012 macs running os x 10.9.5 (both thunderbolt 1) windows 8.1 file , vm server has 2 thunderbolt 2 ports using thunderbolt ethernet bridge functionality , corning's optical tb cables.

dick move intel, reason allow windows machines tb 2 use ethernet bridge feature:
http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014...s-thunderbolt-ethernet-capability-to-windows/

don't have tb 2 motherboard yet can't test myself. i'm little bit worried windows machine's tb 2 controller "senses" tb 1 device on opposite end , switches "tb 1 compatibility mode" preventing intel thunderbolt windows driver establishing tb bridge.

user access tb 2 , tb 1 machines kind test scenario? should sufficient boot windows on tb 2-equipped mac , connect tb 1 mac (windows on tb 1 system doesn't when tb 1 computer connected)

thank help!

i can shine light on this: yes, possible!

connecting 2012 macs (10.9.5) tb1 windows system tb2 create thunderbolt ethernet bridge, if thunderbolt driver software on windows system version 3.x or later.

works faster , more reliable connecting 2 tb 1 macs. windows system partner around 500 mb/s on smb in both directions (the deployed sata ssds limiting), when transferring couple of hundred gb @ time. 2 macs 400 mb/s random drops in speed , short pauses.
