Apple Watch website now showing watches with the display off

i've noticed apple has been tweaking apple watch portion of apple.com. on design section show images of watch display off. think it's they're showing since isn't on display.

1 thing i'm curious though use of "home" screen in marketing shots (especially on magazine covers). seems apple expects you'll typically in watch face mode (that's access glances , notifications) , more having things pushed or quick glances going in , out of apps might on iphone or ipad. on apple's website "home" screen shown couple times. wonder if decision use in ads or on magazine covers more artistic reasons else?
