when new display released in october 08 had been 651 days since last one. (the previous longest update time recorded...)
@ 1308 days , counting... more doubleing record october 2008.
personally, got tired of waiting , got lg 34um95. great, there details apple version of same display have had. have had better exterior finish, better control os x, isight camera, possibly usb-c hub... have gladly paid premium it.

share-holder , huge fan of company new screen? apple doesn't make panels non-macpro users apple screen same panel lg 34um95 perfect (not graphics power required less pixels 4k).

, 4k macpro users? have wait until cable solution mess resolved in next iteration of mp (i assume case) solves , release 5k monitor?

got solution, taking difference have paid apple screen (~400$) , buy few more appl share it...
 

i'm here waiting too.. 3 years , counting.. meanwhile, picked 34". appreciate screen estate part of me can't live without retina. :'( end of year they'll come out 5k 27" 4k 21.5" displays.
