Drive Enclosure and Speaker advice

this 1st time have ever ventured outside of powerpc forum. please excuse powerpc references. here questions:

have emac , powermac g4 mdd fw800.

can apple speakers plug in the rca-style 2.5mm audio jack on of mac. right have amp hooked mac via 3.5mm jack 3.5mm rca cable.

have 2.5mm 3.5mm adaptor , portable unpowered speakers. if used these speakers in 2.5mm jack adaptor, how work? worth investing in apple hk speakers these kind of g4s? (iirc imac g4 has kind of speaker output) cube (with adapter). or sound better using 3.5mm jack , amp/power speakers doing?

enclosure:

looking 3.5" ide enclosure. have alot of ide hard disks , dedicated ide enclosure. problem finding ide enclosure fw400/800 option isnt common. can use sata drives in enclosure via sata ide adaptor. prefer universal enclosure if possible (sata/ide 5.25"/3.5"/2.5") under $50 if possible.
