iPod Touch 5 & iOS 8 charging issues

i purchased new ipod touch 5 (64 gb) in june of 2013. until time upgraded ios 8 ios 6 charge depleted battery in 3 4 hours tops. after upgrading ios 8, current version 8.1, takes close 24 hours charge battery 20% still on battery. searches did not turn consistent solutions , ones have tried, re-booting ipod, made no difference. , before ask using , have used charger came ipod.

can give me ideas on solution problem is?
there solution?
 

have tried different cable? first 1 lasted 2 years, might time replace it.
