Smart mailboxes in iPad Air

my ipad air running on ios, there way have smart mailboxes same way can have them on mac? , possibly sync them?

i've read articles subject hint it's possible, talk standard mailboxes "vip", "today", etc.

i'm looking enter specific criteria, 1 criteria example sender contains word "alex", emails containing "alex" land in folder.

that's quite important me check mails (almost) on ipad.
use gmail if makes difference.
 

as alternative, can set filters in gmail add various labels want different messages , access messages going labels in gmail account?
