which option better given have similar price , shipping date?

use machine travel , coding work (xcode/web). need run windows version of excel lot need vm that.

in terms of storage, have 16tb home server @ home several tb paid cloud service. in theory don't need huge space on laptop. i'm still concerned 256gb due experience iphone. last iphone 32gb , got low space warning after half year usage (taking lot of photos/videos , large apps). hate forced clean photo/app since panic choosing photo/app delete. in end paid huge premium 128gb verion. guess laptop different in usage pattern idea sync iphone take more 1/4 of space worries me.

haven't had laptop 5 years , never had macbook need inputs here. mac os system size increases time windows? there easy way keep favorite photos on laptop , keep else on cloud? 256gb enough (with cloud server)?
