Can the new Macbook run a 1080p external monitor?

as subject says, if buy 2015 macbook, hook 1080p external monitor , still perform okay? also, may have tried this, forced mirrored display, or can extended display (like second monitor, first being macbook's built in display)?
 

1080p should no problem
